We went bowling

Or as Will would say, we went "bowlings ball." It took us almost 3 weeks and about 5 times rescheduling, but we finally made it work. It was Will's first time bowling, and he took it all very seriously. I wish I had brought my video camera! He would stand there with a blank stare, just waiting. Then when it was his turn he would rush right up to grab his ball, wait for daddy to line him up and push!

Down it would roll, taking it's time.

And there he would wait, anxious to see what would happen.

If he got some pins down he would do a double fisted "yes!" If he missed he'd do an "aw shucks" motion, like this...

It was pretty much the cutest thing ever, but I'm partial. I also realized it is pretty much impossible to get a good/cool/hott looking picture of someone bowling. Take these for example...

 I know. Sexy.

It was a really fun time though. Some of my family and some friends were there too. I didn't do that well, but I didn't break any nails and I got better than a 39 (my record low) so I would call that a success!

As we were leaving my sister let Will play a snowmobile arcade game. The 3 minutes he got to play that pretty much topped the whole night of bowling as being the coolest thing ever.

Our week in pictures

Happy Saturday everyone! I just love Saturdays. Dean still has work, and I pretty much do the same thing I do Monday through Friday. But for some reason it just feels different. There is more of a hustle and bustle out in the world or something. Today is going to be a great day; I can just feel it! I got to the gym this morning, showered, did a little cleaning and once Sam is up from his nap we're off to run a couple errands. Dean has a bachelor party tonight, so it's just me and the boys all day. I'm sure we'll end up watching Bambi or Fox and the Hound, and hopefully have an early bedtime for the boys so I can have a nice quiet evening to myself!

A little funny story from the gym this morning. While I was on the treadmill a lady asked if she could change the tv channel that was in front of me to something other than Nanny McPhee. Having not seen it before I was actually getting into it, but I obliged. She changed it to the Pioneer Womans show on Food Network. Sweet! The lady got on the treadmill next to me, and I commented that I followed the Pioneer Womans blog had been wanting to see this show.

Then she says, " I don't really like her; she homeschools." Ha!

I said, "Oh? You don't like homeschooling."

She responded with, "No. I'm a teacher."

To which I said, "Oh. Well, I was homeschooled."

Looking back I have come up with many more better responses like, "Then you should know how much dedication and hard work it takes to educate children!" But of course I didn't think to say that then.

She reponded with, "Well, then you'll probably like her then." and we ended with that. Perhaps if we were in a different situation I would have tried to continue the conversation, but I had been on the treadmill for over 20 minutes and was quite out of breath. It was all quite ammusing though.

We had a pretty typical week around here. Will finally got over his ear infection (Yay!), so I did a lot of running around that I wasn't able to do last week. This is what our week looked like photo style!

We looked out the window.

 Made our own lunch.

Got into the toilet paper while mama was sewing. (Look what happens when I tell him no...)

I swear. I only said no. Dramatic much? Sheesh.

 We played outside in t-shirts!

 Wore shoes with no socks.

 Played at the playground.

 Climbed on tables.

Ate some butter.

Got a haircut.

Made silly faces!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

A Sunny Wednesday

We had such a fun, full and productive day yesterday! It was warm and sunny with the smell of Spring in the air; just beautiful! I wish I had this much get up and go on cold and gloomy days.

In the morning we had a quick breakfast, and after a little meltdown from a certain 3 year old boy, we headed out to the gym. The boys got to play with new toys and mama got in her workout. Win, win! Once home, Sam went down for his morning nap, and I cleaned out my disgusting, apple core ridden car while Will played in the yard. I got in a quick shower before Sam woke up, and then we had a picnic lunch in the backyard!

I wanted to get the oil changed in my car and walk to the library while we waited, but my neighborhood mechanic couldn't take it today. Boo! So instead, we cleaned up the kitchen, and headed down the street to the playground. You guys, I love this playground. It is literally 2 blocks from our house. It's in a great neighborhood. Partially fenced. Really big. Lot's of big trees for some shade. I will dearly miss it whenever we end up moving (which will hopefully be kind of soon; gah!).

Last minute Aunt Anna & cousin Ben and Aunt Val decided to come too! Ben just cracks me up man. This was his first time on the swings, and he wasn't a fan. As you can see.

Will was always on the go, so I hardly got any pictures of him. He loved playing in the sandbox though!

Yes. He did just throw sand on his head.

What?!? It can't be so. We actually got a decent picture of me and Sam? This NEVER happens.

Sam hanging out with Aunt Val!

Sam's newest trick is pointing. At everything. We asked Sam, "Where's Ben?"

There he is!

We played for a good 1 1/2 hours at the playground until the it'sdefinitelytimeforanap whining began, and then we headed home for some rest.

I'd like to say that the whole day was just wonderful, but our great day ended with a certain 3 year old throwing a crazy fit in the bathtub, because he didn't want me to wash the sand out of his hair. I know I am such a terrible mom. We can't always win, I suppose.

Our week in pictures

We have been home every day this week, with the exception of having to grocery shop yesterday, since Will hasn't been feeling well. The poor little guy seems to have an ear infection. The pain comes and go leaving him miserable one minute to running around and kicking a ball the next. So, we've either been snuggling on the couch or trying to pass the time away. Here is a little glimpse of our week!

 We made lots of forts.

I got flowers from my honey.

Sam's favorite thing to do these days (along with playing with a box of Tampons) is turn the TV on and off. It is also the biggest source of aggravation for Will.

 We did some coloring.

I caught them playing cars together!

We made "special squishy project."  He wasn't impressed.

Someone wore a cute striped outfit with elbow patches.

We sat on the couch and watched LOTS of movies.

Mommy and daddy had some chocolate covered strawberries.

 We played with race cars.

 We played OUTSIDE!

 We picked our noses.

Made friends with a stray cat.

Thought a cat was the scariest thing in the world.

 Wore our rainboots.

 Saw some signs of SPRING!
